June 2, 2024, the Canada–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce organized a conference in Montreal, Canada to introduce medical research and Canadian health technology companies interested in accessing the Vietnamese market. The event brought together many influential representatives from the healthcare, education, and technology sectors.

According to Lawyer Hiếu, Canada has strong advantages in science and technology; however, it faces challenges due to high production costs. In this context, Canadian companies need to identify suitable markets to deploy and develop new medical technologies and equipment, and Vietnam is considered a promising destination, especially as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), to which both countries are members, has come into force.
In addition, Vietnam is currently amending regulations in the healthcare sector to facilitate the development of highly interactive digital health solutions. With the Vietnamese Government’s commitment to promoting digital transformation in the healthcare sector, Vietnam’s digital health market has been attracting increasing interest from both domestic and international companies.
The conference was held in the context of growing bilateral trade relations between Canada and Vietnam, with total two-way trade reaching more than US$10.3 billion in 2023.
